The Sino-German Workshop of "Building the bridge between physics and material science in amorphous metals" was successfully held in Beijing
The workshop supported by Sino-German Center for Research Promotion was carried out in Beijing from 13th - 16th, Oct. 2010. The organizers are Prof. K. Samwer and Dr. B. Zhang in University Goettingen, and Prof. W.H. Wang and Dr. P. Wen in Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The participants include 10 German scientists, 21 Chinese scientists, 2 America scientists, around 100 PhD students, and scientists in this field. In the workshop, diverse statements and enthusiastic discussions about hot points in latest progress, central issues in basic theory, applications of amorphous metals, and connection between physics and material science in the amorphous metals field were presented. Finally, the importance of building bridge between physics and material science in amorphous metals was on consensus. Further strengthening Sino-German cooperation in amorphous metals field was reached.
