The  workshop on future research directions in metallic glasses  was held in 2 to 4 July, 2009, at the Park Plaza Beijing Wangfujing Huayuan Hotel.  The worshop was supported by  the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs.  This is the first workshop for the team of "Amorphous Materials and Physical Research", the members of the team include Wu Yue, Wang Xunli, Chen Mingwei, T.G.Nie , AL Greer, and J. Eckert (overseas members), Wang Weihua, Pan Mingxiang, Bai Haiyang, Xue-Kui Xi, Wen, Zhao (domestic members)  More than 40 people including 12  invited participants and  graduate students were invited to participate in the workshop.
