To understand the micromechanics reason for the plastic deformation of bulk metallic glass (BMG) is my major study interest. BMG materials can be compressed or bended plastically far below their glass transition temperature (Tg). Since the free of dislocations, the classical theory about crystalline plasticity is not valid for BMGs. It is urgent to investigate what is the underlying micromechanics relating to its plasticity.
