Dr. Bing Chen Wei, worked in this group from 1999 to 2001. The research effort was focused on preparation and properties study of Nd-based bulk metallic glasses (BMG). The anomalous thermal stability of Nd-based BMG was studied by using dynamic mechanical thermal analysis (DMTA), DSC, and isochronal dilatation etc. The magnetic domain structure was investigated by magnetic force microscopy (MFM). The deforming behaves of Nd-based BMG at room and elevated temperature were studied by isothermal compression test at different temperatures and strain rates.
